Supported instruments
GCWerks supports a range of instrument from major manufacturers, including Agilent GC and GC/MS instruments, optical instruments such as Picarro and LI-COR, and many smaller devices such as flow, pressure and temperature controllers.
The AGAGE "Medusa" GC/MS
The Medusa GC/MS measures about 50 compounds important to ozone depletion and greenhouse warming, ranging from CF4 to CHBr3.
The 2 liter air sample is trapped on the main trap (cooled with a Stirling engine) and then transferred to a focusing trap. Trap flushing pressures and temperatures are optimized to minimize matrix gases.
The Medusa is fully controlled by GCWerks drivers for the GC, MS, Valco valves, Red-y mass flow controller, Stirling engine, Omega temperature controllers, etc.
Agilent instruments
GCWerks supports major instruments from Agilent.
Agilent 5973, 5975, 5977 MSD
Agilent 6890, 7890 and 8890 GC
Optical instruments
GCWerks supports range of optical concentration and isotope analyzers.
Picarro
LI-COR, including the LI-COR LI-7810 CH4 analyzer and the LI-7815 CO2 analyzers.
Aerodyne
Aeris
Other devices
GCWerks support a variety of small devices such as those listed below. Drivers for these smaller devices can be developed using the GCWerks device driver library, which is available to select users with programming ability. These additional drivers may be contributed to GCWerks once tested and vetted.
Valco valves
Stirling engine
Red-y mass flow controller
Omega temperature controllers and other smaller devices
